Since they kicked off over the weekend of November 17th, 2018, the French Gilets Jaunes or Yellow Vests protests have swept across not only France, but are showing inspiration and momentum in other nations, both in Europe and abroad. Mimicking crowds, motivated by the courage & resilience of the French lower & middle classes who are fed up with elite-focused & mandated rule out of Paris benefiting primarily 1% elite class donned yellow vests in taking up issues against their own national or regional leaderships. You've hopefully seen the images for months now, otherwise your media sources are found wanting. The French protests, now entering their 17th week yet still without a unifying leadership or streamlined platform, have claimed many casualties, with nearly 1,900 injuries some gruesomely maiming - and eleven dead as of this writing. The United Nations human rights chief Michelle Bachelet last week called for a full investigation into reports of excessive use of force by the French police against Yellow Vest protesters.
